This hotel is fine to spend a few nights in this beautiful town. Its not really flash but when you just want a good location and a place to sleep it works well. Its not expensive and it is close to everything - though there is a bus stop nearby. We didn't eat there as we wanted to experience the local restaurants and the evening ambience. Our room was clean and the management very hospitable. We enjoyed our stay in Assisi and exploring the religious sights. Hopefully might return one day.
We were traveling with a group and found the accommodation to be clean and no-fuss. The food was really good and all of us enjoyed our stay. We would very likely come back if we were traveling independently. And Assisi is such a magical place. We were entranced.
The 3-star Hotel Ancajani is situated on a quiet street, inside the city walls and a stone's throw from the centre of Assisi. The hotel is within walking distance of the Basilica di San Francesco (5-10 mins). Many of the guest rooms have views across the Umbrian plains. The Ancajani is a good value hotel and the entire city can be explored on foot from this location.
The Ancajani is a former convent, now fully restored and still owned by a religious order. These days the property is managed by lay staff.
All guest rooms have private bathrooms and a TV. The Porta Antica restaurant specialises in typical Umbrian cuisine and is open for all meals. Parking is scarce in this vicinity but guests of the hotel can stop to drop off luggage. A large paid parking area is situated nearby.
