This guesthouse is in a really good position for anyone wanting to escape the main tourist area of Venice. Close to the water and peaceful as well. We thought the price was very reasonable for what we got. Staff were really friendly and helpful as well. The house is managed by The Salesians.
Located in the Castello district, near the Biennale Gardens, this house of hospitality is slightly off the beaten tourist track, and situated in a quiet, residential area of Venice. Managed by the Salesian Order of Don Bosco, in a previous life, Casa per Ferie Ca' Leone XIII was a boarding school. However, in 2013 the Salesians renovated the property and transformed the former school into a modern guesthouse open to all travellers and pilgrims.
The holiday house is situated in a leafy area of shops, restaurants and cafes, close to the Garibaldi monument. The house lies among tree-lined streets and a large park is nearby. A roof terrace overlooks the city and the lagoon. With a Vaporetto stop handily located, the property makes a great base for exploring the tourist attractions of Venice.
